Day #1: Freedom

Today I am finally free. It has been hectic these past 3 years. New school, new people, making friends, losing friends, self-hate, anorexia, veganism… So much changed throughout those 3 years and they just flew by so fast. I grew up and I am a completely different person now. … read more

Why I was absent for such a long time…

Well well well…

It has been quite a long time since I posted anything. I am really sorry and here I am going to explain to you why.

This year was my final year at high school and of course it was followed by final exams – polish Matura. I tried to write something every week or at least every month during autumn and beginning of winter but later, in 2016 it was impossible for me. I had to study so much, I literally did 2-3 papers in chemistry and maths. Basically those last 5 months almost were about studying studying studying…

But I have some good news! Today I had my last exam for a long time. I am right now as free as a bird and… read more

My eating disorder story

This year has been a year of great changes for me.

I have learned to stop blaming myself for everybody’s unhappiness.
I have learned to love my body no matter how it looked.
I have learned to open myself to others.
I have learned to keep a positive attitude no matter what.
I have learned to be happy.

I couldn’t have done that without my parents’, my boyfriend’s/best friend’s help and without going vegan and finding out about the vegan community.
My parents where first to notice… read more

Christmas #2: Gingerbread cookies time!

Hello gingerbread men!

It is right now the perfect time to bake. To bake gingerbread cookies of course. It’s Christmas time, isn’t it?
I love Christmas. It is apart from spring my favourite time of the year. Everything is covered with snow, lights are shining everywhere and try to get through the snow that’s covering them, Christmas decorations surround us, we get to decorate our own Christmas tree that will give off a beautiful smell of forest… read more

Cinnamony apple pie

IMGP3401 (2)

I wasn’t exactly planning to make this pie. It was only because my grandma planned to come around on Sunday. Otherwise I would not even go into my kitchen that day. But she decided, when I was in the middle of the process, that she is not coming and well… I had to finish it.
You may think that I’m honing right now. Maybe you’re a bit right. Anyway, I made this pie and was expecting a recipe that would need a lot of improvement, but it turned out pretty delicious! And I would love to share it with you!
I made the crust vegan… read more

Whole wheat pasta salad and freshly pressed juice

I’ve been craving quinoa for some time now, but I just couldn’t get round to cooking it. There was always something. Something else for dinner. No time. Leftovers that had to be eaten. Always something. But yesterday after the whole week of tests I decided to treat myself to quinoa salad. I came home quite early because I had only one exam in Chemistry that day, which began at 8:30 and the time given was 3 hours but I finished it half an hour earlier. It was neither hard nor easy. Some tasks were extremely obvious, but on a few I had to strain my mind to work out the answer. It took so long mainly because it consisted of 40 tasks, none of which was an ABC question!
But that test was not the only one that took so long to finish. The one in Mathematics was the most strenuous. read more

Healthy oat-banana muffins

IMGP3327 (2)

It finally happened. I tested my abilities with these muffins. Why? I am good at backing from a recipe, but usually when I try to invent something it doesn’t turn out how I wanted it to. What is more, I used to bake cakes and cookies that weren’t vegan… So when I was starting on preparing these I had really dark thoughts. I anticipated them to come out, I don’t know, maybe a bit under-baked or not sweet enough, too dense, too moist or that they would not rise at all. But as you can see on these photos they came out pretty good-looking :3I decided to change a non-vegan muffin recipe to a vegan one, just to make it easier. The original recipe… read more

Spicy “Miso Soup” with rice noodles and veggies

_B146410 (2)

Hello everyone! Finally I have got round to writing my first recipe. I’m really nervous about that. I hope you will like it :)But without further ado let’s get down to it!
was thinking a lot about what I can make as my first recipe and I had many many many ideas, like some butternut squash salad or buckwheat pancakes with some green filling or even something as simple as millet with greens. But then on Saturday, when I was about to cook and take pictures I thought: ‘hmm… actually, I have a desire for some Asian food, for something spicy and with long long noodles’. I don’t know how about you, but these noodles in Asian cuisine are one of my favourite things, apart from rice and sushi of course. … read more

Welcome to my own tiny place on the Internet!

I’m glad you stumbled over my page and hope you’ll stay for a little while!
Hello everyone, my name is Adela and I am a student with a passion (and devotion) for food. I set up this blog to be able to share my recipes and, well, life with you.
And yes, I am polish.
And vegan.
I turned vegan mainly because I was on the verge of getting anorexia and I heard it had helped many girls with eating disorders, so I thought… why not give it a try? … read more
